Medicare is changing diabetes supply providers on July 1st
Jun 24th, 2013
If you’re one of the millions of Americans who enjoy benefits through Medicare and who also have diabetes, you may already be aware that as of July 1, there will be some big changes in the way diabetes testing supplies are provided when many of the mail order suppliers will cease to deliver diabetes testing supplies.
Big changes to your prescriptions can be unpleasant and scary. I have read many blogs and posts written by individuals concerned that they may no longer be able to get the testing supplies they prefer, and that their cost may go up.
Well, I have some great news! Your friendly team at Albertsons Pharmacy is ready to help you. In many cases, your local pharmacist will be able to provide you with the same brand of testing supplies that you received through the mail. Just ask us before you run out of strips and lancets, and we will call for a new prescription and get it all ready for pick-up.
We know that there will be some supplies we may not be able to obtain or provide on Medicare. In those cases, we are fully prepared to personally introduce you to an alternate product, and in most stores, we offer a free training session by appointment to show you one-on-one how the new equipment works.
We know that many Medicare recipients have additional coverage, sometime called Medi Gap. If you bring in your supplemental insurance information, we can usually bill for the remainder due to Medicare and hopefully avoid any out of pocket cost you might incur. Our pharmacy teams will do what they can to make this transition as seamless for you as possible.
Change can be scary. That’s where we come in. We want to be your guide to help make this change easy. You deserve your Medicare benefits. Allow us to be of service so you can continue to receive the diabetes testing supplies you need.
Here’s to your health!
