5 Tips for Popsicle Perfection

This summer, as the temperature rises, be at-the-ready with some delicious frozen treats! You can even jump on the DIY bandwagon and start making them yourself! Here are some tips & tricks to get you popsicle perfection this summer.
#1. For fruit flavors, leave some whole pieces!
This is a fun idea to not only give your popsicles some varying colors, it gives you little boosts of flavor with every bite! Blend most of your ingredients together until smooth, pour into your molds and then put in your other fruit you set aside in the molds. The best popsicle flavors come with using fresh, ripe fruit!
#2. For creamsicle style pops, try greek yogurt or avocados!
I know what you’re thinking – this sounds like a weird idea. But I promise you, it makes for some deliciously creamy popsicles! We recommend adding Greek Yogurt to any type of fruit-flavored creamsicle and avocados for your DIY fudgsicles!
#3. Invest in some great popsicle molds!
There are all kinds of popsicle molds that you can use in a pinch, but for the perfect popsicle making experience, we suggest you find some that are made for them! We even carry some in our stores!
#4. Fill them 3/4 of the way up!
Remember that when something freezes, it will expand! Leave some room for your popsicles to expand without overflowing in the molds.
#5. Try adding some crunch.
Making a pie flavored popsicle? Well, what’s a pie without the crust?! We love adding some crust to our popsicles and you can even make some that are good for you! Try using roasted wheat germ with a mixture of honey and coconut oil – this will add the sweet flavor of a pie crust without all of the processed sugars!
