Product Purchases:

Our Category/Sourcing Managers vary in degree of experience and devote majority of their time reviewing and sourcing goods and services that provide best for their external and internal customers.

Most of what Supervalu/Albertsons buys from suppliers is product for resale in our stores. Basically our retail Category Managers will labor in a plethora of areas such as; meat, baked goods, floral, deli, general merchandise, pharmaceuticals and specialty foods, to name a few.

Service Oriented Products:

In addition to merchandise/products, Supervalu/Albertsons also purchases services including:

  • Professional Services ( banking, auditing, consulting, architecture, legal, finance)
  • Promotional Services ( advertising, marketing, public relations, photography, printing)
  • Construction ( general contracting, concrete work, construction management, design, electrical, excavating, air-conditioning, painting, paving, plumbing, roofing)
  • Warehousing ( material handling, equipment and parts, cleaning supplies)
  • Transportation ( tractors, trailers, vehicle maintenance, automotive supplies, contract hauling)
  • Materials Supplies ( office machines and supplies, furniture and fixtures, mechanical and electrical equipment)
  • Maintenance and Repair ( janitorial services, office machine services, landscaping, and parking lot maintenance, plumbing, air-conditioning, painting , electricians)
