SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conceptualizing, completing and presenting analysis in support of management decisions, forecasts, and initiatives.
- Work closely with members of the Albertsons Finance team as well as others across the company.
- Collect information from various areas across the company, build models to provide insight to underlying business dynamics, create written presentations, and participate in executive reviews.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process, the strategic planning process and other initiatives as they arise from time to time.
- Own simple to moderate processes and/or portions of complex processes with no visible drop off in performance to leadership.
- Supervise and/or mentor both Analyst I and Analyst II personnel.
- Prepares and reviews accurate and timely financial and business related analyses, research, and forecasts including financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, weekly divisional forecasts, working capital and investments.
- Conceptualizes, develops and presents business cases to present to financial and business leadership.
- Leads special financial and business related studies as needed to support project objectives.
- Partners with other departments in the preparation of analyses and to identify improvement opportunities that can provide positive results to the bottom line.
- Provides mentoring and training to other analysts on reports, systems and financial process flow.
- Acts as an internal consultant and interacts with management at all levels.
- Provides insights into the performance of the business.
- Develops, interprets, analyzes and implements complex business strategies. Owns and/or plays leadership role in critical Planning and Analysis processes.
- Conducts analysis of alternatives, recommendations and research from multiple sources.
- Applies intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of business issues.
- Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action.
SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- 4+ years of experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- MBA (or CPA) strongly preferred.
- Financial Planning & Analysis experience required.
- Retail experience preferred.
- Fortune 500 experience strongly preferred.
- Leadership (either supervisory or mentoring) experience preferred.
- Ability to be a team member and demonstrate leadership skills to contribute to team dynamics.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of management.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others within a complex, fast paced organization required.
- Capability to work independently and/or unsupervised.
- Excellent spreadsheet and database application skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
- Statistical modeling skills a plus.
- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
- Stopping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
- Some travel (10-25%) may be required.
