SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conceptualizing, completing and presenting analysis in support of management decisions, forecasts, and initiatives.
  • Work closely with members of the Albertsons Finance team as well as others across the company.
  • Collect information from various areas across the company, build models to provide insight to underlying business dynamics, create written presentations, and participate in executive reviews.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process, the strategic planning process and other initiatives as they arise from time to time.
  • Own simple to moderate processes and/or portions of complex processes with no visible drop off in performance to leadership.
  • Supervise and/or mentor both Analyst I and Analyst II personnel.
  • Prepares and reviews accurate and timely financial and business related analyses, research, and forecasts including financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, weekly divisional forecasts, working capital and investments.
  • Conceptualizes, develops and presents business cases to present to financial and business leadership.
  • Leads special financial and business related studies as needed to support project objectives.
  • Partners with other departments in the preparation of analyses and to identify improvement opportunities that can provide positive results to the bottom line.
  • Provides mentoring and training to other analysts on reports, systems and financial process flow.
  • Acts as an internal consultant and interacts with management at all levels.
  • Provides insights into the performance of the business.
  • Develops, interprets, analyzes and implements complex business strategies. Owns and/or plays leadership role in critical Planning and Analysis processes.
  • Conducts analysis of alternatives, recommendations and research from multiple sources.
  • Applies intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of business issues.
  • Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action.

SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • 4+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • MBA (or CPA) strongly preferred.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis experience required.
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • Fortune 500 experience strongly preferred.
  • Leadership (either supervisory or mentoring) experience preferred.
  • Ability to be a team member and demonstrate leadership skills to contribute to team dynamics.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others within a complex, fast paced organization required.
  • Capability to work independently and/or unsupervised.
  • Excellent spreadsheet and database application skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Statistical modeling skills a plus.
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
  • Stopping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
  • Some travel (10-25%) may be required.
