Pharmacy Summer Intern Program

Albertsons (also known as Sav-on Drugs, Sav-on Pharmacy, Osco Drug, Jewel-Osco, Acme & Shaws) offers the best summer internship program in the industry - hands on experience for our students who want to become retail pharmacists. Our internship program was launched in 1991 and continues to be the premier program in the nation. This internship is designed to augment academic experience and develop practical health care skills.

We offer a nationwide, structured, full-time internship program that concentrates on disease management and how it fits into community pharmacy operations. During the 10 week program, interns are exposed to all areas of the pharmacy including:

Patient Care & Customer Service
Pharmacy Operations
Prescription Processing
Drug Interaction/Allergy Screening
Prescription & Over-The-Counter Medication Product Knowledge
Store Operations
Community Projects


Program Requirements

All interns must have completed their first year of the professional curriculum at an accredited college of pharmacy (may interview during first year). An interview with a company representative is required and typically occurs on campus between September through January.
