Courtesy Clerk
Courtesy clerks bag your groceries, and help carry them to your car. Supervalu/Albertsons prides itself on having the friendliest clerks in the business. Courtesy clerks also gather shopping carts from parking lots, keep checkstand areas clean and perform other miscellaneous duties.

Courtesy Booth Clerk
Courtesy booth clerks provide many services to our customers, including solving problems and selling convenience items like postage stamps, gift certificates, money orders and lottery tickets. They answer questions and requests, both in person and on the telephone.

Bakery Sales Clerk
Bakery sales clerks work in the Bakery Department, stocking and selling cakes, pies, rolls, muffins, breads and other baked goods. They often ask customers to try samples of bakery products as a way to increase sales, and frequently use stores' intercoms to announce promotional sales.

Butcher Block Clerk
Butcher Block clerks prepare and wrap special cuts of meat, poultry and fish in response to customer requests. With wrapping and suggestive selling, customer interaction is an important part of the job. Clerks also use the intercom to announce in-store specials, create attractive displays, prepare seafood salads and take-out trays, and ensure the freshness of our Butcher Block products.

Service Deli Clerk
Service deli clerks fill requests from customers by slicing and wrapping lunch meat, cheese and other foods. They work with equipment like fryers and slicers, and can help increase sales by handing out food samples, recommending additional items to customers and using store intercoms to announce special promotions.

Lobby Clerk
Based at the lobby counter, lobby clerks provide courteous customer service by answering questions, solving problems and selling items like candy, tobacco, cigarettes, calculators, watches and cameras. They also rent out movies and assist customers with photo finishing requests.

Drug/General Merchandise Clerk
Employees in this position work in the non-food section of the store. They keep their department stocked with items such as toothpaste, over-the-counter medicines, school supplies and seasonal merchandise.

Grocery Clerk
Grocery clerks make sure the grocery section of the store is well-stocked, and many work evenings. They handle items like cereals, canned vegetables, soups, spices, cookies, ground coffee, etc. Grocery clerks also assist customers in finding specific items in the store.

Cashier/Checker
These employees provide fast, friendly customer service as they tally each shoppers' purchases using computerized cash register systems. Accuracy and basic math skills are important, as is the ability to memorize some product identification codes. They often bag their customers' orders, and help shoppers find items in the store.
