This August, Albertsons and Tom Thumb stores presented a check for $417,953.90 to the Dallas Police Department in an Appreciation Night. The event honored the five fallen officers from the attacks in downtown Dallas on July 7, 2016.  Just days after the attack on Dallas Police Officers, Albertsons and Tom Thumb started a collection of donations from customers. In just two weeks and two days, we were able to achieve this generous donation. The Appreciation Night was held at the Jack Evans Dallas Police Headquarters, where Albertsons and Tom Thumb provided dinner to all attendees. Dennis Bassler, Southern Division’s president, presented the check to Dallas Police Chief, David Brown, on behalf of the Line of Duty and the Assist the Officers Foundation. All the major Dallas sports teams came out to show their support and celebrate the successful fundraiser.
