Albertsons Declares Tuesday, November 12th Jason Witten Day
Nov 12th, 2013
FORT WORTH, TX (November 7, 2013) – In honor of Jason Witten’s long-standing partnership with Albertsons and his leadership on the field, in the community and at home, Albertsons has declared Tuesday, November 12, 2013 Jason Witten Day.
Witten is one of the premiere tight ends in the NFL today. In his years with the Cowboys, Witten has made seven Pro Bowl appearances, set the NFL record for catches in a season by a tight end and holds the distinction of being the team’s all-time leader in receptions, but it’s his work off the field that has vaulted him to this level of distinction in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Witten and Albertsons have partnered for several years, and key to their relationship is their commitment to community. He is one of the most generous players, and through his Jason Witten Score Foundation, has been active in establishing a number of community outreach programs and contributed to several capital building projects in Texas as well as his home state of Tennessee. “It is with great pleasure that we proclaim November 12, 2013 as Jason Witten Appreciation Day in honor of everything he has given back to our Texas community. Both Jason and Albertsons are committed to helping our communities grow and prosper,” said Mike Withers, president of the Southern division of Albertsons . “We’re proud that Jason is always there willing to lend his time and help us to give back.”
Jason will make appearances at Albertsons in Uptown at 2pm and at the Albertsons in Arlington 6220 US HWY. Customers can also save 10% off their groceries when wearing a Dallas Cowboy Jersey in the store that day.
Albertsons is working to become the favorite food and drug retailer in every state in which it operates. An Idaho-based company with a rich history extending back to 1939, Albertsons stores now operate in 16 states at over 600 locations.
