California: Whooping Cough Vaccinations Available Now
Jun 19th, 2014
Once again, a whooping cough epidemic is growing in California, and the State’s Health Department is encouraging everyone to make sure their vaccinations are up to date. According to the state agency, about 800 new cases have been reported within the first two weeks of June.
Whooping cough is a contagious disease that causes violent coughing fits making it hard to breathe. It spreads easily when someone with the disease coughs or sneezes. But it can be prevented by receiving a one-time vaccination, and this vaccine is now available at all Albertsons/Sav-On Pharmacies throughout Southern California.
Specially trained and certified Albertsons/Sav-On pharmacists are currently available to administer this vaccine Monday through Sunday, without the need of an appointment. There’s an ample supply available and a majority of prescription insurances are accepted.
