A Maltier Pale AleIn the 1940’s, Belgian-Style Pale Ales grew in popularity and were ordered my the round fur to their balanced taste.  Rounder, Blue Moon’s expression of this sessionable style, is crafted with hibiscus and orange peel for a hint of spiciness and a touch of wheat for a smoother, rounder taste.

Ingredients and Profile

Malts and Specialty Grain Hops Their Twist ABV Appearance
Pale, Imported Caramel, Imported Light Caramel, White Wheat Cascade Orange Peel, Hibiscus 5.6% A brilliant amber color with a thick, creamy, white head.
Aroma Taste Mouthfeel IBU’s Finish
Notes of caramel malt and citrus with an assertive hop aroma. Caramel maltiness balanced with a hint of bitterness. Medium body with a smooth malt character 30 A hint of hops with a slight citrus/floral taste.

Food Pairing and Recipe

The malty and citrus flavors pair well with dishes such as grilled beef.

Goat Cheese Crostini
Serves 15-18 crackers
Prep Time: 3-5 minutes

Directions

To zest te orange, use a small cheese grater to remove the top of the orange rind.  Then, in a small mixing bowl, combine goat cheese, chives, orange zest, Blue Moon Rounder, and honey.  Mix until all ingredients are fully combined and cheese becomes soft.  Spread cheese mixture over crackers (about 1 tbsp per cracker).  Top with 1/2-1/3 slice prosciutto and serve.  Makes about 15-18 small crackers.

5 oz Goat Cheese

1/4 cup fresh chives, chopped

2 tsp orange zest (equivalent to 1 small orange)

1 tbsp Rounder Belgian-Style Pale Ale

1 tbsp clover honey

Whole wheat crackers or crostini pieces

1 2-3 oc pack of prosciutto (6 slices)
