Here are Frequently Asked Questions about our service*:

Do you have 1-Hour delivery windows?

Yes. With 1-Hour delivery windows, you can schedule a grocery delivery at an available time that perfectly fits your tight schedule. You can also save money by selecting an available 2-Hour window or an environmentally friendly “Green” 4-Hour window. Look for delivery windows marked with “Save $” and “Green”.

What is “Shop By History”?

“Shop By History” is the FASTEST way to shop, and it’s like having your own personal store. Items you’ve purchased with your registered Club Card, both in-store and online, are saved in your personal “Shop By History”. You can fill your cart in minutes, since all your recent purchases are already on 1 page. No need to create a separate shopping list. To load your in-store purchases into your Shop By History, all you have to do is enter your existing Club Card number during registration. TIP: If you didn’t enter your Club Card number when you registered, you can add your in-store purchases to your online history by adding your Club Card number within “My Account” or by calling 1-877-505-4040.

When can I get my groceries delivered?

We deliver 7 days a week between 9:00 am and 10:00 pm local time, at most locations.

Can I get delivery the same day?

Yes, we have Same Day Delivery most days. Submit your order by 8:30 am for delivery between
4:00 pm and 10:00 pm. For earlier Same Day Delivery, between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, submit your order by
3:00 am. (Note: All times listed are local to your area.)

Can I make changes to a submitted order?

Yes, just sign in and click “My Orders” at the top of the page and follow the easy instructions for changing your order. You can change your order up until 3:00 am if your delivery window is between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. If your delivery window is between 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm, you can change your order any time before 8:30 am. All times listed are local to your delivery area.

Please Note: Changing your delivery date may affect item prices and promotions. Also, Promo Codes cannot be entered during the Order Edit process. If you qualify for additional Promo Code Deals, please make a note of the offer(s) and call toll-free at 1-877-505-4040 after you receive your delivery, and we’ll apply the appropriate credit.

Is there a minimum order amount?

Yes, a $49 minimum purchase amount (excluding applicable tax, delivery fee, fuel surcharge, bottle deposits and bag fees where applicable) is required to process and deliver your order.

How much is the delivery fee on my first order?

If you are a new customer, you get FREE delivery on your first order. Simply enter the Promo Code: EASY7 at checkout. You may also qualify for FREE or discounted delivery fees on subsequent orders. Please refer to the “How do I get free or discounted delivery?” question for ways to save.

What is the home delivery fee?

Regular home delivery rates in most areas are $9.95 on purchases of $150 or more (excluding applicable tax, delivery fee, fuel surcharge, bottle deposits and bag fees where applicable) and $12.95 on purchases under $150 (excluding applicable tax, delivery fee, fuel surcharge, bottle deposits and bag fees where applicable).
A fuel surcharge may apply. A fuel surcharge will be triggered only when the price of a gallon of gasoline rises above $2.75.
The surcharge will be directly tied to the retail price of gasoline as published by the Department of Energy https://www.eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/
If average retail price of gasoline is under $2.75 then no fuel surcharge.
If average retail price of gasoline falls between $2.76 and $2.85, then fuel surcharge is $0.28.
If average retail price of gasoline falls between $2.86 and $2.95, then fuel surcharge is $0.38.
If average retail price of gasoline falls between $2.96 and $3.05, then fuel surcharge is $0.48.
Add an additional $0.10 in fuel surcharge for each additional $0.10 increase in gasoline prices.
The surcharge will be listed on your final receipt. If you qualify for Free Delivery, there is no fuel surcharge.

Should I tip my driver?

No, our drivers do not accept tips but they do appreciate your gratitude.

What makes shopping for groceries online a good idea for me?

The primary benefit is convenience, which can be different for everyone. Families with small children like the service because it gives them more time to spend together doing other things. Shoppers living in apartments like the fact that they don’t have to carry large orders or heavy items like pet food or cases of water, especially up flights of stairs. Generally, shoppers enjoy ordering groceries from the privacy of their home, any time of day or night, and receiving their order fresh to their door from a friendly driver.

What is your 100% Satisfaction Guarantee?

If you are not completely satisfied with any item, either return it with your driver or call Albertson’s Customer Support at 1-877-505-4040 for a refund or credit. Albertson’s will issue a credit to the card used in an amount equal to the full value, plus applicable sales tax. Some exceptions may apply.

Do you deliver to my area?

We offer delivery in many major U.S. cities and suburbs. To find out if we deliver to your area, enter your zip code on the “Sign In / Register” page.

I want to shop. How do I start?

If you have not utilized our online grocery delivery service before, simply visit the Albertson’s Grocery Delivery site and create an account. If you already have a Albertson’s Grocery Delivery account, just sign in and start shopping.

Can I reserve a delivery time before I start shopping?

You can select a convenient delivery window at any time while placing your order by clicking “Reserve a Delivery Window” from the left hand navigation or at the top of the page and then selecting an available window. TIP: It’s wise to reserve your preferred delivery window after you sign in but before you start your order. The window will be held for two hours while you place your online order.

Are there other ways to save?

Yes! Click the “Online Savings” link in the blue navigation bar at the top of the page to view more great deals. Here you’ll find exclusive Online Only deals. You can also browse all of our specials On Sale Now from this page.

Will just for U® offers apply online?

Yes, your current just for U offers will apply when you shop online, provided the account you used to register for Grocery Delivery is linked to your in-store just for U account. The savings will be reflected on your final receipt at the time of delivery. If you don’t see your just for U savings reflected on your final receipt, or if you have any questions on this process, please contact Customer Support at 1-877-505-4040.

How do I get FREE or Discounted delivery?

If you are a new customer, you get FREE delivery on your first online order. Simply enter the Promo Code: EASY7 at checkout.

You may qualify for daily FREE delivery offers. Click the “Online Savings” link in the blue navigation bar at the top of the page to view offers. Discounted delivery options are also available every day (windows noted with “Save $”) on the delivery window selection page.

How do you keep my groceries fresh?

Your order is selected the day of your delivery and loaded onto our delivery trucks. Trucks are equipped with multiple temperature zones, so frozen items stay frozen and vegetables are crispy fresh when delivered.

Are bags used for the delivery/pick-up of my order?

Most items (depending upon size) will be packaged in either paper or reusable plastic bags depending upon the requirement of your local area. Our reusable plastic bags use a thicker plastic, are in compliance with Ecologo® standards, and meet state and/or local laws requirements for reusable bags. We encourage you to reuse these bags whenever you visit a retail store. Bag fees, where applicable, are the same for either paper or reusable plastic.

Can I place a delivery order for someone else?

If you want to order groceries for a parent, friend or a student away at college, simply create a new account with that person’s delivery address and use your own credit card for payment.

Do I need to be present at the time of delivery?

Yes, for Attended Delivery windows, someone over the age of 18 must be present. If someone over the age of 18 isn’t present at the time of delivery, your driver will return your items and issue a refund to the credit card used. If your order contains alcoholic beverages, tobacco products or other age-restricted items, someone over the age of 21 must be present to accept and sign for the delivery or pick up. Valid (non-expired, government issued) identification confirming the age of the person signing for the delivery or pick up of any age-restricted items is required where that person reasonably appears to be under the age of 30.

In select areas, we also offer Unattended Delivery windows. There’s no need to be present. Groceries are left on your doorstep. To ensure freshness, retrieve your groceries by the end of your selected Unattended Delivery window. Alcoholic beverages and other restricted items are not available with Unattended Delivery. Unrestricted access to your doorstep is required. Please do not select Unattended Delivery if your doorstep is not a safe location to leave groceries. Albertson’s is not responsible for your grocery order once it is delivered unattended. Albertson’s is not responsible for any theft or damage that occurs after delivery.

How do I pay for my order?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit cards, and debit cards that have a Visa or MasterCard logo. Cash, Albertson’s gift cards, Fast Forward, personal checks and other charge accounts are currently not accepted for online orders.

Why does my order confirmation at checkout say that prices are estimates only?

The prices quoted on the site at the time of your online order are estimated prices only. The actual order value cannot be determined until the day of delivery because of variations in product weights (e.g. random weight items such as produce), available prices and promotions between the date you submit your order and the date/time your order is filled and delivered, substitutions, taxes, bottle deposits and item availability.

What happens if an item is out of stock?

Occasionally, we may run out of an item. At checkout we ask you if you would like us to attempt to substitute a similar item. You always have the option of returning a substituted item for a full refund. If you are dissatisfied with an item when it is delivered, notify your driver, and he/she will return it and your credit card will receive a refund for the price charged for the item. If your driver is no longer present, please contact Customer Support at 1-877-505-4040 to help resolve the issue. If an item is missing from your order, you have 48 hours from the time of delivery to notify Customer Support for a full refund. Note that certain items, including alcoholic beverages, baby formula and tobacco products cannot be returned or refunded once you have accepted delivery.

Do you deliver to businesses?

Yes! Many businesses use this service to stock their break rooms with beverages, fruit, energy bars and other snacks. Business customers also order party trays for working lunches and company events. Business delivery fees in most areas are $14.95 on purchases of $150 or more (excluding applicable tax, delivery fee, fuel surcharge, bottle deposits and bag fees where applicable) and $17.95 on purchases under $150 (excluding applicable tax, delivery fee, fuel surcharge, bottle deposits and bag fees where applicable).
A fuel surcharge may apply. A fuel surcharge will be triggered only when the price of a gallon of gasoline rises above $2.75.

Is my personal information kept confidential?

Yes, your personal information is treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Which payment methods are eligible for eScrip contributions?

For grocery delivery service, only signature debit transactions qualify for eScrip contributions. However, because debit transactions are processed the same as credit cards, you must call Albertson’s Customer Support at 1-877-723-3929 to have each qualifying eScrip transaction manually adjusted.

Please note that credit cards may be used to pay for grocery delivery, but due to high processing fees, those transactions are not eligible for eScrip contributions.

What services do you provide for Lake Powell visitors?

Safeway Grocery Delivery offers seasonal delivery to houseboats on Lake Powell or for pick-up at our Page, Arizona store. Orders must be completed 3 days prior to your arrival date, and the delivery/pick-up fee is higher than the standard home and business delivery rates listed above. Free delivery codes are not valid for Lake Powell houseboat deliveries or in-store pick up.
