Apr 12th, 2016

Albertsons Companies is celebrating the launch of its new store brand, the Signature family of brands, which is the largest private label across all 2,286 Albertsons and Safeway stores.

We know our customers take great pride in selecting foods that put their own special signature on meals and create meaningful moments for family and friends. Our new Signature family of brands gives us the opportunity to help you make even more sensible choices by offering quality products at an exceptional value throughout the store.

We won’t put our Signature label on just anything; a product has to meet rigorous quality standards and be an exceptional value to carry the Signature brand. We’re watching customer buying trends and striving to meet customers where we can help most: where their grocery budget meets their desire for fantastic foods and quality household products.

To further celebrate the Signature launch, we’re teaming up with actress and Cooking Channel host Tiffani Thiessen to inspire shoppers with her tips and recipes for signature meals and moments. Now in the second season of her popular TV show “Dinner at Tiffani’s,” Ms. Thiessen will be sharing her own personal signature moments and dishes through special events and social media, featuring the #MySignatureMoments hashtag. Check out a few of our favorite Signature recipes here.

  2. Santa Fe 20/04/2016 at 2:26 am

Are any of them organic? I’m tired of being poisoned by pesticides, herbicides, hormones, fungicides. . .

    • Customer Support 20/04/2016 at 4:14 pm

Santa Fe, we offer a variety of products. Our O Organic line may be the best to suit your needs. We hope this helps! –Felicia

  3. Joyce 20/04/2016 at 8:29 am

I find they are seconds. In canned fruit
They are all cuts in a can. I buy sliced and
They are sliced, halfso, cross cut in the can.
Vegetables too. You can not serve them to guests.

    • Customer Support 21/04/2016 at 12:46 pm

Hello Joyce, we are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with our Signature line of canned fruit. Should you encounter another product that is unsatisfactory, please email us at albertsons.social.media@safeway.com with the UPC and number from the packaging. This will allow us to report your concerns to our Quality Assurance Department. -Rebecca

I also don’t like the Signature Brand. The Essential Everyday brand was so much better!!The waffles and apple juice especially. I have completely stopped buying and switched to another store.

  5. Paul McClain 20/04/2016 at 11:32 am

Every time I’ve tried a store’s private label
brand, they’ve never come close to the name brand. I no longer try ANY private
label brands. It’s always a waste of money!!

  6. Deborah L Jones 20/04/2016 at 1:46 pm

Tiffany is one of my favorite actresses on 90210 haven’t seen her cooking show but I love cooking and i’m a deli clerk at Albertsons, store 961 in Tucson Az…

  7. Sandra D. 22/05/2016 at 7:41 pm

I buy Albertsons “Signature” brand items, and I am totally satisfied with my purchases. Maybe I am not as “picky” as some, who expect a superior, perfect, product for a value-added price break. The savings is important to me.

I feel that for the money I am willing to spend, for the items I purchase, I am getting the quality I expect when I buy Albertsons store brands.

I just wish Albertsons would not have sold out to Haggens, here in Oregon! There used to be a store just down the street from where I live, now I have to go clear across town to shop at Albertsons–I don’t like Haggens.

    • Christine Christine 18/06/2016 at 9:32 am

Hi Sandra – we recently completed a transaction to acquire Haggen stores. I’m not sure where you live or if your local store will re-open again, but for the locations in Oregon that we did acquire, we plan to transition them back over the next several weeks. I appreciate your feedback about our Signature products. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

  8. Helen Newson 26/06/2016 at 12:36 pm

Signature Brand is inferior to Essential Everyday
I love Essential Everyday frozen Vegetables.
Signature cost more and gives you less for your money and not very good quality. I will have to find another store that sells Essential Everyday. I recently returned a large bag of flour by Signature because a a recall. Horrible Signature. Bad move Albertsons.

    • Customer Support 26/06/2016 at 8:12 pm

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, Helen. We will be sure to share your comments with our Own Brands Department for further review on this. Thank you for your time. -Julio

  9. Chris Kapsalis 01/07/2016 at 1:45 pm

The signature brand coffee suddenly went from 31.5 oz down to 24.2 oz without notice or price change. What’s up with that? I didn’t notice until I got home the new can was so much smaller than the one I have been buying all this while? Not exactly living up to the statement about the Signature brand on your website. Kind of the opposite.

    • Customer Support 04/07/2016 at 11:26 am

We regret to hear of your disappointment, Chris. We will share your comments with our Product Developers for escalated review, and appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention. -Rebecca

  10. Pamela 08/07/2016 at 7:52 pm

Where are your Signature Home Everyday Toothpicks made? Are they a product of the USA? Why doesn’t it say on the box?

  11. Daniel 28/08/2016 at 5:34 pm

I used to always buy Everyday Essentials Apple Jelly. When it wasn’t around I would get the Smuckers Apple Jelly. Now I see your stores have neither. Please make a Signature Brand version of Apple Jelly and stock it in your stores and in the Pavilions stores too.

    • Customer Support 29/08/2016 at 4:50 pm

Daniel, we’d be happy to share your interest with our Product Development and Merchandising Teams for further consideration. Could you tell us which location you happen to shop at most? -Julio

Where are the signature kitchens canned vegetables grown

    • Customer Support 14/09/2016 at 8:41 am

Hello, the canned vegetables are grown in the United States unless otherwise specified on the can. We hope this helps. Thanks! -Aaron

  13. Derf Buppalo 19/09/2016 at 11:33 am

I’m a cracker lover, and I think the Delectables are great! They rank up there with Carr’s and other mainstream brands. But do something about the cellophane packaging. When it tears, they all fall out. Also, if the packaging was hipper, with a little push, you’d have a hit!

    • Customer Support 19/09/2016 at 1:27 pm

We appreciate your input, Derf! Glad you are enjoying them! We will be sure your suggestion is delivered to our Product Packaging Team for further consideration. Have a wonderful day! -Rebecca, Customer Support

  14. Randy Wel 25/09/2016 at 11:12 am

Folgers shrunk the size of their coffee can and didn’t shrink the price. I found Safeway Select French roast was a bit cheaper and tasted good, so I switched to the Signature brand.
Now the signature can shrunk a whopping 23%…..
I’m going to go shopping elsewhere.

    • Customer Support 25/09/2016 at 1:28 pm

Randy, thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Could you please email us at Albertsons.Social.Media@safeway.com with your mailing address, the UPC number, and any other dates/codes on the packaging? We would like to address this issue with our Quality Assurance Team. –Julio

  15. Randy Wel 26/09/2016 at 12:43 am

I did as you requested. I incorrectly called the product Safeway Select, but it’s actually Safeway’s Signature Kitchens brand.

I am looking for information on the Signature Select Granola. THank you for the allergen statement, including the “May Contain” portion. These are MUCH appreciated.

My question is whether the nuts used in the granola are also processed in a peanut-free facility/equipment.
My son has a peanut (only) allergy, and I want to make sure that the nuts he eats are also safe. This granola is very delicious, BTW.

  19. Danielle Trasciatti-Holmberg 16/10/2016 at 9:55 am

I purchased a Signature Kitchens coffee creamer, and I think it tastes awful. How do I go about getting my money back?

    • Customer Support 18/10/2016 at 2:03 pm

Danielle, thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Could you please email us at albertsons.social.media@safeway.com with your address, phone number, the UPC number, Best Buy date, and any codes/numbers from the packaging? 20. Jo 02/11/2016 at 12:54 pm

Signature Select Chicken Tikka Masala frozen dinner is so full of MSG, flavorings, preservatives and other junk that it gave me a reaction. There is no reason to sell a product with this level of unhealthy ingredients. I won’t be buying any more of these.

    • Customer Support 03/11/2016 at 2:57 pm

We’re sorry for your dissatisfaction with this item, Jo! We will be sure your feedback is delivered to our Product Developers for consideration as we continue to improve our recipes! -Rebecca

  21. Beth 07/12/2016 at 6:27 pm

Oh my gosh…just tried to eat the cut spinach. It was terrible…like it was all the weeds canned. Stems and a strange taste. We eat Del Monte or other brands of spinach often. This can of Signature brand was not eatable. Sorry…but you folks need to do some quality checks!

    • Customer Support 07/12/2016 at 6:42 pm

Beth, thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Could you please us at Albertsons.Social.Media@safeway.com with your mailing address, the UPC number, and any other dates/codes on the packaging? 22. Pennie NIxon 22/01/2017 at 9:40 am

I buy Albertson store brand all the time with generally no complaints. This week I bought my grandson the Signature Kitchens Cinnamon Crunch cereal 12.2 oz. Both boxes contained very hard clumps that were unchewable.
I am not a complainer but I take care of grandkids and try to save money at any cost.

    • Customer Support 22/01/2017 at 2:05 pm

Hello Pennie, We would like to address with our merchandisers. Please provide the UPC and any other numbers and dates on the package to our email at Albertsons.Social.Media@Safeway.com. Also, please provide the store address and when this was purchased. We apologize for the inconvenience.-Dolores

  24. Buddy Crabtree 29/01/2017 at 8:34 am

Just realized you have High Fructose Corn Syrup in your muffins. You just lost a customer. I will be posting this on Facebook to warn my friends. To bad my wife really liked them.

  25. Cookie Monster 03/02/2017 at 6:41 pm

The Signature Select cookies are dangerous. For a grocery store I would say you have very good bakery items. Whatever you do don’t get rid of the cookies

    • Customer Support 03/02/2017 at 9:18 pm

Cookie, thank you for the feedback. We appreciate it and we will share it with our Product Department. Thank You -Cornelius

  26. Rich Willard 05/02/2017 at 3:12 pm

Why do I have to go on the Internet to see if Signature Farms brand brussels sprouts are grown organically or if I have to wash them before use, I am concerned about how they are grown and if pesticides are used. Why are they labeld Organic, apparently they’re not and pesticides are used.

    • Customer Support 06/02/2017 at 1:41 pm

Rich, food products labeled with organic claims must comply with both USDA regulations for the organic claim and FDA regulations for labeling. Due to the volume of products in our inventory, we do require a UPC to further assist you and provide more product details. Please feel free to email us at Albertsons.Social.Media@safeway.com with the requested information. Thank you! -Julio

  27. Lee C 09/02/2017 at 7:12 pm

Safeway in Northern California sells Signature Select Simmer Sauces. They are all incredibly good. Will Albertsons or Vons (in SoCal) be carrying these soon…. or ever???? thanks

  28. Barbara 22/02/2017 at 6:33 pm

Hello, I live in Southeastern Massachusetts and have for the first time this week tasted your Signature Select Salted Caramel Cappuccino Drink Mix in a k-cup.
It is absolutely awesome. I had to drill down to the Albertson website to find you. We do not have any in my state, to my knowledge, certainly not locally, It was bought at the local Shaw’s Supermarket. Is this a new line for them? I hope to be able to buy them from now and into the future.
Is it possible to order them online through this website? Please let me know.
    Thank you.

    • Customer Support 23/02/2017 at 2:01 pm

Barbara, Thank for you feedback on our Signature Select Salted Caramel Cappuccino Drink Mix in a k-cup. We will be happy to find out if it is a permanent product. 29. Cheryl 22/03/2017 at 12:07 pm

where does the signature salt come from? It says that it is distributed by ‘better living brands llc . . . pleasanton, Ca, but does not say its point of origin . ? ? ?

    • Customer Support 22/03/2017 at 3:54 pm

Cheryl, all of our products are from the United States unless otherwise stated on the package. We hope this is helpful in addressing your concerns. -Julio

  30. David Boyd 06/04/2017 at 8:26 am

I bought Signature Select Italian Roast Dark Roast Coffee Pods and they were of poor quality. The lid to one of the pods was not properly aligned when it was affixed to the top in production and it leaked all over the inside of the box. That pod was obviously ruined, but it also made a mess the kitchen when I opened the box. The bottom of the box says “2BEST BEFORE MAY1118SS1515
    8OGO1087”

I made the purchase because it was on sale and I thought it was a good value, but with fewer than the expected quantity it isn’t as good of a deal. Next time I think I’ll stick to brands I know. I’m surprised at the lack of quality control.

    • Customer Support 06/04/2017 at 6:20 pm

David, thank you for reaching out to us on this. We have sent you a follow-up email requesting more details so we may look into this further. -Julio

  31. Marty Stevens 07/04/2017 at 7:20 pm

I’ve been drinking a lot of the Signature Kitchens Green Tea and Black Tea and while the taste is totally acceptable for the price tag, I’m worried because I cant find any information on where it’s grown. I’ve also read a handful of other comments on this page of people having suspicions on where there products are being grown and the typical response is “from the United States” which is a little bit shady. I seriously hope in the future that Better Living Brands LLC can be a little more transparent with their product line and could take the time on their labeling to state where there products are being grown / sourced from. It could potentially be beneficial to their brand if customers knew for certain exactly where the products are coming from but, as it stands right now, I’m sitting here drinking a cup of tea and second guessing every sip of it wondering if I’m drinking a hot cup of Chinese lead and flouride

    • Customer Support 08/04/2017 at 3:57 pm

Marty, we would like to look into this for you. Please email us at albertsons.social.media@safeway.com with the UPC of the products, as well as any other numbers and stamps that you see on the packages, and the store location where you shop most frequently. Thank you! -Samantha

  32. Madeline Magee 11/04/2017 at 7:59 am

On the Signature Kitchens Old-Fashioned Oats container, the directions are difficult to read. They are in small print , white print on orange background. The serving size chart is very difficult. Get your graphic people back to work. On the other hand, you spelled old-fashioned oats correctly.

    • Customer Support 11/04/2017 at 8:00 pm

Hello, Madeline. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’d like to relay your comments to our Product Development Teams for further review. Would you be able to email us at Albertsons.Social.Media@safeway.com with the UPC and any other numbers or letters stamped on the packaging? We look forward to hearing from you. -Julio

  33. Joyce 16/04/2017 at 9:49 pm

We like to buy your Signature Kitchens 3 lb bag of edamame because we eat a lot of them and it’s the largest size we have found and so economical. However, we notice it doesn’t say “non-GMO soybeans” anywhere on the bag. Your soybeans come from Canada. We want to know if they are non-GMO. If they ARE GMO, we don’t want to eat them anymore.

  34. Nick Rosso 18/04/2017 at 12:13 pm

    4//18/17, Last week I bought a bag of S3149.
This coffee is undrinkable. It’s the worst I’ve ever had. I usually drink Starbucks French Roast, but wanted to try this brand.
I paid $5.99. Your bag states that it is 100% guaranteed. I want my money back! You may email me for my mailing address.

    • Customer Support 18/04/2017 at 12:55 pm

Hello Nick, we apologize that you find the coffee undrinkable. Please return to the store with your receipt and speak to an associate at the Customer Service Booth for a refund. We will forward your comments to our merchandisers for review of this product. Which store was this purchased at. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. -Dolores
