In our new “Meet Local” series, we’re featuring our wonderful vendors! So many of them have special stories, from family farms to women-owned businesses to mission-driven entrepreneurs, all who want to make a difference. Follow along as we share their stories.

Bay Baby Produce began with just 30 acres of soil planted in the Skagit River Valley, between the beautiful Puget Sound and the rugged North Cascade mountain range. With some soil and an idea, Michelle Youngquist and a childhood friend joined forces to make pumpkins fun again by individually hand-painting them with happy, festive graphics. Today, Bay Baby Produce has grown to a 250-acre pumpkin patch consisting of miniature pumpkins, pie baking pumpkins and an assortment of ornamental pumpkins with fun Halloween and fall-inspired designs that are available in the Floral Department of our Washington stores.

And in 2016 they expanded, planting over 50 acres of organic land to grow organic winter squash! Today we carry 11 varieties of their squash in our Washington stores; Acorn, Butternut, Spaghetti, Turban, Delicata, Gold Nugget, Kabocha and Carnival squash to name a few.

What began with some soil and an idea, has grown into one of Skagit Valley’s most charming farms. We are honored to carry their wonderful produce in our stores. Head to your local Washington store and look for Bay Baby Produce decorative pumpkins in our Floral Department and squash and sugar pumpkins in our Produce Department.
