Cookies & Milk – Help fight hunger with Girl Scout Cookies
Feb 8th, 2016
It’s that time of year again, when we all start to get excited for Thin Mints and Samoas! From Jan. 15 through March 13, you can find Girl Scout Cookies throughout the Treasure Valley. It’s no secret that the Girl Scouts have been selling their famous cookies for decades, but did you know that you can donate a box through the Cookies from the Heart program? The donated cookies benefit the Idaho Foodbank to help those in need.
But, wait. The giving nature has been taken one step further this year.
From Feb. 26 through March 13, the United Dairymen of Idaho will donate one gallon of milk for every box of Girl Scout Cookies donated to the Cookies from the Heart program. That means a simple $4 purchase will provide one box of cookies and one gallon of milk to help fight hunger in Idaho.
The Girl Scouts will be making periodic appearances at Albertsons stores throughout Southern Idaho from February 26th through March 13th. All you have to do is look for the booth and make a donation when you see the cookies and milk decorated cookie boxes. Grab a box for yourself and help those in need at the same time.
You can have your cookies and help fight hunger too. Everyone deserves a box of delicious Girl Scout Cookies and milk.
All Girl Scout Cookie purchases, donated or not, go to support girls and the mission of Girl Scouts — to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. A box of Cookies from the Heart and a gallon of milk puts that mission into practice.
