Pumpkin

October is here which means one thing: PUMPKIN SEASON!  We have a wide variety of pumpkins at our stores and even we had to stop and ask ourselves: “So, which pumpkin is the right pumpkin?”  Here are some pumpkin pro tips:

Carving Pumpkins

Your standard carving pumpkins have a thicker “shell” which is why they last longer outside when you carve them.

Carving Pro Tip:

Some of these smaller squashes can add some serious character to any Jack-o-Lantern!  Cut the end off and use it as a nose for your pumpkin this Halloween!

Blue Doll Pumpkins

These unique pumpkins are perfect for any front porch decor.  They also have a sweet-tasting flesh when cooked, making them a great cooking pumpkin as well!  Try them in a dish with roasted vegetables for a different flavor! (Try this recipe).

Knucklehead Pumpkins

These guys will definitely add some character to any Fall decor!  They also stay a nice color orange when they ripen, and the flesh is a sweet flavor when roasted!

Cinderella Pumpkins

These guys get their name for looking like the pumpkin Cinderella’s fairy godmother transforms into a carriage.  Their gorgeous color and shape make them great table accents.  Their flavor also makes for a delicious pie or squash recipe. (Try this pie recipe).
