DIRECTIONS

  • Chop enough watercress to make 1/3 cup; reserve remaining watercress for garnish.
  • In medium bowl with fork, mix well walnuts, salt, cheese and chopped watercress. Spread cheese mixture on bread slices.
  • To serve: Cut each slice diagonally in half; garnish each half with 2 or 3 sprigs watercress.
  • KEEP TRIM SANDWICHES
  • CRUNCHY TUNA SANDWICH:
  • To tuna, add minced celery, chopped nuts, salt and a bit of blended cottage cheese. Spread on very thin slices of date-nut bread.
  • CURRIED SHRIMP SANDWICH:
  • Mix canned shrimp and chopped apple with low-calorie mayonnaise and curry powder. Spread on dark bread.
  • CHICKEN LIVER SPECIAL SANDWICH:
  • Chop cooked chicken livers with stuffed olives. Spread on pumpernickel bread.
  • PEPPERY SANDWICH:
  • Make a sandwich of thinly sliced green pepper and ham slices on dark bread.
  •  SAVE
