Amazing Apple Tart

  • The oven should be already heated to 425°F.
  • Place the crust on an ungreased baking sheet. Fold 1/4 inch of the crust edge inward and press it with your fingers to make a thicker edge. With the tines of a fork, prick the crust all over inside the rim. Bake until the crust barely begins to brown, about 8 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, drain the apples and set aside.
  • Remove the crust from the oven. Working carefully because the crust and baking sheet are hot, spread the pudding evenly over the crust. Arrange the drained apple slices over the pudding, overlapping slightly in a spiral pattern until the surface is covered. Refrigerate any leftover slices for another use.
  • Place the caramel sauce in a 1-cup glass measure and microwave, uncovered, on high, for 15 seconds or until it reaches a pourable consistency. Drizzle the sauce over the apples in a thin stream. Return the tart to the oven and bake until the crust is golden brown, about 8 minutes. Serve slightly warm, cut into wedges.
