DIRECTIONS

  • Rinse the strawberries in cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In the top of a double boiler over low heat, melt the chocolate bits with the butter.
  • While the chocolate is melting, heat the milk in a saucepan over low heat, until warm. When the chocolate is melted, gently stir in the milk. Thin with more milk if the chocolate remains too thick to dip the strawberries in.
  • Holding the strawberries at the top, dip them in the chocolate, covering about 3/4 of the berry. Immediately place the strawberries on a plate or pan that has been lightly oiled with vegetable oil, and chill them in the refrigerator until the chocolate has hardened. The strawberries should be served the same day they are made.
