DIRECTIONS

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sauté the onion for 5 minutes, or until soft. Add all remaining ingredients except the chicken wings. Bring to a simmer and cook over medium-low heat for 20 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool completely.
  • Put the chicken wings in a bowl, pour the barbecue sauce over them, and marinate for 24 to 48 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Grill the wings over charcoal, basting often with the marinade, for about 20 minutes of slow and even cooking.
