Place the rice and water in a pot and bring to a rolling boil. Using a wooden spoon or chopsticks, stir to loosen the rice. Let boil for 2 minutes then reduce heat to very low. Cover with a tight-fitting lid and steam for 20 to 30 minutes.

Remove rice from heat, uncover, and fluff rice with a fork. Keep covered and warm until needed.
