Place the cranberries and water in a saucepan, bring to a boil, and simmer until the skins have burst and the berries are soft. Transfer the mixture to the bowl of a food processor, add the sugar and cinnamon, and purée until smooth.

Strain the mixture through a fine sieve and cool.
