DIRECTIONS

  • Sauté the onions and garlic in butter till they are just tender. Add the remaining ingredients for the sauce. Bring to a boil and simmer 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the ribs with salt and freshly ground pepper. Weave them on a spit or lay them on the grill. Broil very slowly over very low heat.
  • If you spit them, let them roast about 20 minutes and then begin brushing with the sauce. Continue to brush every 15 minutes or so till the ribs are cooked.
  • If you are using the grill, broil the ribs on one side, turn, and brush the finished side with the sauce. When the other side is done, turn and brush also. Repeat the process two or three times till the ribs have a nice glaze but are not burnt.
