DIRECTIONS

  • First, prepare the dressing by placing the oil, lemon juice, and vinegar in a bottle with a tight-fitting lid. Shake well. Add the shallots, salt, pepper, soy sauce, hot sauce, and garlic, and shake thoroughly. Set aside at room temperature for at least 8 hours to allow the flavors of the dressing to blend and heighten.
  • In a large pot, cook the pasta until al dente. While the pasta is cooking, separate the broccoli into flowerets with 1/2-inch stems. Steam over simmering water until just barely tender (about 4 minutes). Drain well and place in a large bowl. Stir in the scallions, red pepper, and tomatoes.
  • Drain the cooked pasta, rinse with cold water, and drain again. Transfer to the bowl with the vegetables.
  • Shake the dressing and pour over the pasta and vegetables. Toss lightly and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Toss again and serve.
