Almond Green Beans

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly coat a 2-1/2-quart ovenproof casserole dish with vegetable oil and set aside.
In a large pot, steam the green beans over simmering water until just tender about 5 minute). Drain well and set aside.
While the beans are steaming, prepare the cheese sauce. In a medium-sized pot, heat the oil over low heat. Add the shallots and sauté, stirring, until they are soft about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with the flour and combine well. Whisk the milk slowly into the shallots, then add the dill, salt, pepper, and garlic. Bring the sauce to a boil, stirring, and cook 1 minute. Remove from the heat and add the cheese.
Place one-third of the beans on the bottom of the casserole dish and sprinkle with one-fourth of the bread crumbs. Top with one-third of the nuts and one-third of the cheese sauce. Repeat the layering twice, ending with the sauce. Sprinkle the top with more bread crumbs.
Place in the oven and bake until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the top is golden brown about 30 minutes. Serve immediately.
