Caramel Apples

DIRECTIONS
Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Flatten 5 paper cupcake liners on the baking sheet. Remove the stems and insert a wooden skewer into the stem end of each of apple.
Combine carmel and water in the top of a double boiler or a heatproof bowl set over--not in--boiling water.
Heat, stirring until the caramels are melted and smooth. Working quickly, dip in the apples, one at a time, scraping the excess off on the side of the pan. If desired, dip the bottom in chopped peanuts.
Set each apple on a cupcake liner. If refrigerated, the caramel will set in a few minutes.
