  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 12x8x1-1/2-inch baking dish.
  • Cook the lasagna noodles in a large quantity of boiling salted water for 9 to 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef, remove, and set aside, leaving 1 to 2 tablespoons of the fat. Add the onions and garlic, cooking until soft and opaque, 5 to 7 minutes. Add the thyme, oregano, fennel seeds, pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and lasagna sauce.
  • In the prepared dish, layer in this order: a thin layer of the sauce to prevent browning, pasta, sauce, ricotta, and mozzarella. Repeat, starting with the pasta, for all the layers.
  • Bake for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese and return to oven for 10 minutes.
