DIRECTIONS

  • Place the water in a 4-quart saucepan, add the red dye and vinegar, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and carefully add the eggs. Return the pan to the stove and place over low heat. Simmer the eggs for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the eggs from the pan with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to dry. When dry and cool, polish each egg with a clean cloth or paper towel that has been soaked in olive oil.
