  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and flour a 9-inch bundt pan.
  • Sift the flour and salt together and set aside in a small bowl.
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter, vanilla extract, and orange rind until smooth. Gradually add the sugar, beating until blended.
  • Add the eggs one at a time and beat until fluffy and light.
  • Combine the milk and whiskey and add alternately with the flour to the butter and egg mixture, blending well after each addition. Stir in the pecans.
  • Pour the batter into the bundt pan and smooth the top to make a level surface. Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan on a rack for about 15 minutes, then remove from the pan and continue to let stand on the rack until completely cool. Place on a cake plate or platter and dust with confectioners' sugar.
