Apricot Almond Dessert

DIRECTIONS
Butter a 9 x 9-inch square pan.
Combine the wafer crumbs, butter, almonds, and vanilla extract and mix well.
Pat half the crumb mixture onto the bottom of the prepared pan. Reserve the remaining crumb mixture.
Spread the ice cream over the crumbs. Freeze until firm.
Quickly spread the jam over the firm ice cream and cover with the reserved crumb mixture. Cover and freeze. Remove from the freezer 20 minutes before serving. Cut into squares.
