DIRECTIONS
Trim and discard excess fat from meat; place meat in a 13" x 9" glass baking dish or other non-reactive dish in which the meat will fit snugly.
In a bowl, combine brown sugar, black pepper, ground chile, cumin, salt, oregano and cayenne; mix well. Stir in beef broth, lime juice and liquid smoke.
Pour over meat; turn meat to coat. Cover tightly with foil and refrigerate at least 24 hours or up to 36 hours.
Preheat oven to 300F (150C). Bake meat 4 hours or until very tender when pierced with a fork.
Remove meat from oven and let stand 10 minutes. Transfer meat to a cutting board; cover to keep warm.
Skim fat from pan drippings. Pour drippings into a small pan; stir in barbecue sauce. Simmer 5 minutes.
Slice meat across the grain and arrange on a platter. Drizzle sauce over meat.
