No-fail Dill Pickles

DIRECTIONS
Wash and trim cucumbers and prick them once with a fork. Pack cucumbers in sterilized quart jars, leaving a 1/2-inch headspace. Sprinkle chopped dill heads and minced garlic throughout as you are packing jars. Set jars aside.
Combine vinegar, water, and pickling salt in a 2-quart microwave-safe batter bowl. Stir to combine. Microwave on high (100% power) for 8 to 9 minutes, or until mixture comes to a boil. Remove, stir, and pour hot brine over cucumbers. Seal jars; let cool.
For immediate use: Place cooled jars in refrigerator and let age 2 weeks before using. Store 6 to 8 weeks in refrigerator.
For longer storage: Process quart jars in a boiling-water bath for 15 minutes.
