Apricot Conserve

DIRECTIONS
Put the apricots in a large, heavy saucepan, and pour over just enough water to cover them. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer the apricots until they're tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Add the raisins, sugar and chopped oranges.
Simmer for 1/2 hour, stirring. It should be thick enough for you to imagine that you can serve spoonfuls of it without its running all over the plate. (Keep in mind that it will become thicker as it cools.) When the conserve is as thick as you want it, remove it from the heat. Cool the mixture, and stir in the walnuts.
