Chinese Barbecued Pork (Char Siu)

DIRECTIONS
Mix all the ingredients, except the pork and cilantro, together in a bowl. Cut the pork into strips approximately 4" x 2" x 1". Place in the bowl with the marinade and refrigerate overnight, or at least four hours.
Line a large roasting pan with foil. Pour one cup of water into the pan. Drain the pork, reserving the marinade. Lay the pork strips on a baking rack and place in the pan. Bake at 375° for 40 minutes, basting several times with reserved marinade. Turn oven to 450° and cook an additional 10 minutes. Serve hot from the oven garnished with cilantro.
