Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a medium mixing bowl. Add the flour mixture, alternating with the cream and beating after each addition until smooth. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and pour it on one of the halves of dough. Chill both rolls of dough for 1 hour.
In a separate medium mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add the egg yolk.
Add the flour mixture, alternating with the cream and beating after each addition until smooth. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and pour it on one of the halves of dough. Chill both rolls of dough for 1 hour.
Roll each half on a lightly floured board into a rectangular sheet about 1/8-inch thick). Placing the chocolate sheet on top of the plain sheet, roll them up together like a jelly roll. Chill the roll for 12 hours.
Preheat oven to 400° F. Cut the dough into 1/8-inch thick slices and place them, spaced 1-1/2 inches apart on nonstick cookie sheets. Bake for 6 minutes.
