Pasta with Tomato Sauce

DIRECTIONS
Put salted water on to boil over high heat and add pasta when boiling.
Meanwhile, sauté onion in 2 tablespoons of the oil until clear and golden. Add canned plum tomatoes and red pepper, and simmer for 5 minutes. Add fresh tomatoes, stir, and simmer an additional 15 minutes.
When pasta is al dente, drain and transfer to a bowl. Toss with remaining tbsp of the olive oil. Ladle on tomato sauce, add freshly grated Parmesan and black pepper, and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
