DIRECTIONS

  • Remove stems from apples and insert wooden skewers in their place. (If the stems are sturdy, the apples may be candied without skewers.)
  • Cook sugar and water until brittle when tried in cold water, or until a candy thermometer registers 265 degrees. Remove from heat. Stir in a few drops of red food coloring, if desired.
  • Dip each apple into the sugar syrup, coating well. Cool on a buttered cooking sheet until coating is set.
  •  SAVE
