INGREDIENTS

Mini-Pizzas in a Flash

DIRECTIONS

  • PARENT PREP: Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Open the pop top and remove the biscuit dough. Cut each biscuit of dough in half (widthwise, from left to right) with a serrated knife to make two thinner circles of dough for each biscuit of dough.
  • Dust a flat surface (paper or plastic plate) with flour for each child. Spoon some of the marinara sauce into a small bowl or cup for each child. Leave a small spoon in each cup for the child to use later.
  • Grate the cheese if not already done (older children may be able to do this for themselves), and place in a medium-size bowl. Coat a nonstick or air-bake cookie sheet or jelly-roll pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • CALL THE KIDS: Place two or three pieces of the pizza dough on each prepared plate. Show your child how to play patty-cake with each piece of dough (flatten into a pizza round using the palms of the hands and fingers). Place pieces of dough in the prepared pan.
  • Now show your child how to spread the marinara sauce over the mini-pizza dough rounds using the spoon in the cup. Your child can grab some of the cheese from the bowl and sprinkle the cheese evenly over the sauce on each pizza round.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes or until the bottoms of the pizzas are lightly browned.
