Snickerdoodles

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400°F. In a mixer, blend the butter with the cream cheese. Mix in 1-1/2 cups of the sugar and beat until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Refrigerate for at least an hour. In a small bowl, mix the remaining 3 tablespoons of sugar with the cinnamon. If you have two children helping you, double the amount of the sugar-cinnamon mixture and divide it into two small shallow bowls.
Show your child how to shape and roll the dough into 1-inch balls (parents may need to roll the dough into balls for young toddlers). Show your child how to roll each cookie ball in the sugar-cinnamon mixture to coat completely. Let your child continue to roll the remaining dough balls. Place the balls about 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet that has been coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake until set, 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from the cookie sheet.
