Where did your Turkey Bucks go?
Nov 25th, 2015
For the past month, Albertsons has asked the community to help local families in need by donating to Turkey Bucks. Now you might be wondering, “Where does this money actually go?” Your donations are used to purchase meals for local food banks within the Intermountain Division, including Oregon, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Nevada. We are proud to announce that your overwhelming generosity has resulted in $856,028.76, equating to 17,124 meals for those in need this Thanksgiving.
Local news stations joined Albertsons representatives in Boise as a portion of the Turkey Bucks donations were presented to the Idaho Foodbank. A total of 2,298 complete turkey meals were donated in Southern Idaho alone.
“Our amazing customers right here in the Treasure Valley have gone above and beyond to help those in need this holiday season,” said Brad Street, Albertsons Intermountain Division President. “We are committed to our partnership with the local food banks to provide hunger relief,” added John Colgrove, Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising. “I have seen first-hand their dedication to feeding the hungry throughout the state.”
On behalf of the local food banks and Albertsons, we would like to take a moment to genuinely say “thank you” to everyone who supported this cause. This type of giving nature and compassion for others is what makes our local communities so great – and we are truly proud to be a part of it.
