Albertsons Acquires 29 Haggen Core Stores in Washington and Oregon

(Boise, ID – March 14, 2016) Albertson’s LLC (Albertsons) submitted a binding bid letter and form of Asset Purchase Agreement to Haggen for the purchase of 29 of Haggen’s core stores. This is a step in the process to obtain bankruptcy court approval, following Haggen’s Chapter 11 filing on September 8, 2015, which is required for consummation of the purchase.

The proposed plan would create a separate business unit for 14 Haggen stores which today are part of the original Haggen “legacy” store chain. They would continue to be operated separately from Bellingham under their existing Haggen name along with a legacy Safeway location in Oak Harbor, Washington that was converted to a Haggen location in 2015.  The remaining 14 stores are stores that Haggen acquired from Albertsons in 2015.  Following the transaction close, these stores will be transitioned over time back to the Albertsons banner, six of which will be operated by Albertsons’ Seattle division and eight by the Portland division.  Antitrust clearance of the acquisition was obtained last week.  The company expects to close on the transaction in the coming weeks, pending customary legal and bankruptcy court approvals.

“Haggen’s original core group of Pacific Northwest stores set the gold standard in the markets they serve for quality fresh products and exceptional service,” said Bob Miller, Albertsons Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “We are proud to now be associated with this tradition, and want to assure Haggen’s dedicated shoppers that the stores will continue to offer customers the freshest local products available and exceptional service, with the same great employees at the stores.” Albertsons plans to hire substantially all store employees and also honor existing labor agreements to staff the stores.

Haggen has a strong reputation and deep roots in the communities it serves, which will continue to be fostered beyond the transaction close. They have established and well-known practices for supporting regional farms, ranches and fisheries, and for supporting a sustainable local food economy.

Every Day Essential Brands are missed at Albertsons in Lewiston, Idaho. I shopped there for Dill Pickles, Kosher Dill Pickles and the only brand I bought. They were the best, salty and high vinegar flavor. Where can I continue to buy Ever Day Essential house brand I always associated with Albertsons and now they have changed to the Signature brand.

Hi Linda, The Everyday Essential brand is a private label product that we sourced from SUPERVALU, and it may be available at an independent grocer in your area. You can visit http://www.essentialeveryday.com/ for a link to find a store near you that might sell the Essential Everyday brand. I’m not sure if you’ve tried our Signature Kitchen brand pickles, but would love to get your feedback about them. I haven’t tried the dill or kosher varieties yet, but have tried the bread & butter pickles and really like them.

    Re: Website Issues…?

    Hello,

My name is Janny and I am a Digital Marketing Specialists for a Creative Agency.

I was doing some industry benchmarking for a client of mine when I came across your website.

I noticed a few technical errors which correspond with a drop of website traffic over the last 6-8 months which I thought I would bring to your attention.

After closer inspection it appears your site is lacking in 4 key criteria.

    1- Website Speed
    2- Link Diversity
    3- Domain Authority
    4- Competition Comparison

I can send you over the report which shows all of the above and so much more which will help you at least improve your site, its rankings and traffic.

I would love the chance to help as well however; this report will at least give you a gauge on the quality of what I do.  If you are interested then please share your requirement and contact details.

Is this the best email to send it to?

    Sincerely,
    Jenny Smith

Hi Hope your business is doing great this year. I was doing some industry benchmarking for a client of mine when I came across your website. I noticed a few technical errors which correspond with a drop of website traffic over the last 6-8 months which I thought I would bring to your attention. I was analyzing your site and it seems that some of your website rankings have dropped. It is due to non optimized techniques/errors And Google guidelines not being followed properly. •    Your web page failed on 4 high priority checks: Meta Description, Headings Status, Broken Links Test, URL Canonicalization Test •    Your most common keywords are not appearing in one or more of the meta-tags above. Your primary keywords should appear in your Meta. •    Site link diversity and Domain Authority is low •    URL Canonicalization should resolve to the same URL, but currently do not. •    5 of them are missing the required ‘alt’ attribute.•    Your website should load quicker •    Your webpage has so many ‘img’ tags and 5 of them are missing the required ‘alt’ attribute. •   Your page has more than 20 http requests, which can slow down page loading. I would love the chance to help as well however; this report will at least give you a gauge on the quality of what I do.  If you are interested then please share your requirement and contact details. Please let me know if we can discuss this. Regards:- AbaThomasEmail ID:-aba968thomas@gamil.com
