Fresh cut meat, seafood, produce, and lower prices are cause for celebration at Albertsons newly remodeled Spokane store.

PORTLAND, OR (August, 19, 2013) – You’re in for something fresh™ on the corner of Francis and Nevada in Spokane as Albertsons LLC’s Northwest Division gets ready to celebrate a new store showcasing an expanded fresh selection and lower everyday prices on Wednesday, August 21 at 8 a.m.

Freshly Cut Meat, Produce and Prices

“We have put a fresh face on a favorite local destination,” states Store Director Dave Jeschke. “Our customers are going to enjoy more variety in our quality fresh food offerings and appreciate the lower prices that they will see throughout the store.”

Albertsons new fresh food offerings take flight with a wing bar, featuring favorite flavors like Salt and Vinegar, Orange, Buffalo, Barbeque and Zesty Wings just in time for football season and the last camping chance of the year at the Labor Day holiday. The store also features an expanded Butcher Block, including a larger selection of freshly caught local seafood and USDA Choice premium beef. This prestigious USDA Choice label is reserved only for the most tender cuts of beef that meet the most rigorous standards and is available at all Albertsons stores. The revamped produce department features an abundance of top quality fruits and vegetables as well as Albertsons new, fresh cut, grab and go veggies and fruit.

Customers will also experience card free savings and thousands of reduced prices on the items they buy every day such as bread, milk, eggs and bananas at this and all Washington, Oregon and Northern Idaho stores. In addition, Albertsons will still feature advertised promotions that will deliver the best prices in the neighborhood.

For more than 74 years Albertsons has been dedicated to giving back to the communities it serves and that tradition continues with this grand reopening. In celebration, Jeschke and his team will give donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Inland Northwest and to Second Harvest of the Inland Northwest to help them fulfill their missions.

The store will be open to serve the community Monday through Sunday, from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

It’s never an easy decision to close a store or leave a city, Linda, but we sincerely appreciate that you shopped our stores there and still think of us. I hope you have a wonderful day! ~Marie

I’d LOVE to be celebrating the opening of one of your new stores in my neighborhood! But so far, nothing. I live in Fremont, a trendy neighborhood of Seattle, just north of downtown. For more than a decade we’ve been experiencing “infill” of buildings and many town homes and apartment buildings have sprung up recently. There had been a Safeway on the corner of N. 40th st. and Stoneway N. but it closed 11 or 12 years ago, and QFC snagged their lease, demolished the old bldg., excavated the site and shored it up when they were gobbled up by Kroger’s. The site remained idle for a decade while growth has been happening all around here and we have only one, overpriced healthfood store in this entire neighborhood. Last year more than 300 new residential apartments came online within two blocks N, S, and W of the old Safeway site. This year more than 300 more new units are scheduled to become available, all in this corridor, on N. 34th and on N 37th sts. The old Safeway site was built out into abour 158 apartments and offices and retail on the ground floor. There’s one remaining giant, grocery store size space still unleased! Please, Alberston’s put a real grocery store in that space. It’s called the Prescott Bldg. at 3920 Stoneway N. There are hundreds of new residents and many of them do not own cars; many of the newly built units are “apodments” with little or no parking available in them and people will need to walk or bus to the grocery store.

This is a very good opportunity for the right store. Please hurry before another trendy clothing store or restaurant grabs this opportunity.

    Sincerely, Mike Russell

Thanks for the invitation and all of that information about where we should put a new store, Mike! I’ve shared this with our Real Estate Team for consideration. We hope we can celebrate a grand opening in your area soon! ~Marie
