Blue Moon Agave Nectar Ale


Pairs perfectly with good friends and a comfortable lawn chair.


When most of us picture a vacation to Mexico, we think of white sandy beaches, and crashing waves.  Not their brewmaster.  His trip itinerary consisted of visiting agave fields and tasting local beers that use natural agave nectar.  Lucky for us, because now we have Blue Moon Agave Nectar Ale to enjoy as a result.  Agave nectar is a natural sweetener similar to honey, but with a nuttier taste.  Our limited summer release is crafted with agave nectar and white wheat for a subtle sweetness and a balance taste with a smooth finish.  It’s like a little shade in a bottle.


Ingredients and Profile

Malts & Specialty Grain Hops Their Twist ABV Appearance
Pale, white wheat & Munich Mittelfruh Agave Nectar 5.6% Deep golden in color with a slight haze and a rich, which head.
Taste IBU’s Aroma Mouthfeel Finish
A biscuity malt taste with a hint of sweetness from the agave nectar 14 Malta aroma with hints of hops and a nuttiness from the agave plant. Well-balanced, medium bodied ale You’ll notice a nice subtle sweetness of agave nectar before it gradually fades.

Food Pairing and Recipe

The sweetness of the agave nectar pairs well with lighter chicken or pork dishes and salads.

Marinated Grilled Fruit with Whipped Cream and Mint Puree
Serves 8
Prep Time: 20 Minutes + 2 hours of marinade time
Cook Time: 5-7 Minutes Directions

Soak bamboo skewers in water.  In a large bowl, combine Blue Moon Agave Nectar Ale, 1/4 cup of agave nectar, orange zest, orange juice, lemon zest, lemon juice, sale and cayenne pepper.  Mix well, then add the fruit, gently stirring to coat each piece.  Let marinate for up to 2 hours.  Then take the marinaded fruit and skewer, alternating each piece of fruit.  Place onto a smoking-hot grill, cooking about 1 minute per side or until the fruit shows grill marks and caramelized sides.

For the whipped cream, mix cream, 1/2 tbsp agave nectar and mint in a large bowl until it has a thick consistency.


2 bottles Blue Moon Agave Nectar Ale
1/4 Cup agave nectar, plus 1/2 tbsp

1 orange, zested and juiced

1 lemon, zested and juiced

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups watermelon, cut into 1-inch cubes (or 1 bowl from Fresh to Go section)

2 cups cantaloupe, cut into 1 inch cubes (or 1 bowl from Fresh to Go section)

2 cups pineapple, cut into 1 inch cubes (or 1 bowl from Fresh to Go section)

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1 tbsp mint chopped
