September is National Family Meals month! Start the new school year off right by incorporating family meals into your weekly routine! When families eat meals together, great things happen!

Children who participate in regular family meals are more likely to exhibit prosocial behavior as adults, develop better relationships with their parents, do better in school, and are at a lower risk of being overweight, suffering from eating disorders or using drugs, drinking or smoking.

Here are a few tips and recipes to help simplify family meals and keep everyone healthy and happy at mealtimes!

Get the Kids Involved

Want to make kid-approved meals the whole family will love? Get the kiddos involved and have them help plan, shop and prepare the meals.

Make Breakfast Banana Split Sundaes for a fun, healthy and delicious breakfast, snack or dessert! Create individual breakfast sundaes using yogurt, frozen fruit and honey! Add some chocolate chips or graham crackers for a fun twist!
