Kretschmar is very disappointing. Dietz was so much better tasting.

The new Corned Beef tastes like a salt lick and now the rarest available Roast Beef (London Broil) is cooked to a medium-well. So sad. Time to go back to Boar’s Head.

So you cheaped out and went with the Walmart brand of meats. Thanks a lot. We’ll be going somewhere else for our deli products.

Your new product is more expensive than D&W and the selection is smaller. The other brands were already sub par quality to begin with. Now that you’ve done away with D&W I won’t be shopping at your deli any more. 3 other customers at the deli and I all walked away at the higher price and smaller selection. We wanted D&W and the price we liked (which was already higher than most other stores). The deli used to have a line, now it’s empty. The store even said sales have dropped. Big mistake.

    • Customer Support 21/07/2018 at 6:51 pm

Hi John, we’re sorry to hear this. We’re always making sure our prices are fair and competitive. We’ve shared your feedback with our Team for further review and improvement. Thanks! -Cynthia

  7. Mary P 22/07/2018 at 5:05 pm

I am so unhappy you aren’t carrying D&W products anymore. While Kretschmar says they are gluten free it can still legally have more gluten than I can even begin to tolerate (20ppm). D&W had CSA certified products (less than 5ppm). PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back D&W!!!

    • Customer Support 22/07/2018 at 5:40 pm

We sincerely apologize your local store no longer carries D&W products, Mary. Can you please let us know which location you tend to visit most often? We’d like to share your feedback with the Store Director to be reviewed for consideration. -Jeremy

    1350 N Silverbell Rd, Tucson, AZ 85745
I was told there (local store) that Albertson’s as a company was no longer carrying D&W…

  9. Kim Keeton-Pettit 30/07/2018 at 3:37 pm

What a disappointment! Went to Albertson’s today to get deli meat and Dietz & Watson products are no longer available. Mary P. I too was told this is a corporate level decision.

Won’t be shopping the Albertson’s deli again until they stock Dietz & Watson or Boar’s Head products.

    • Customer Support 30/07/2018 at 5:49 pm

Kim, we sincerely apologize the selection in your local store’s Deli Department has missed the mark. We truly value your feedback and would like to ensure your concerns are shared with the proper personnel to be further reviewed for consideration. Can you please let us know which location you visited? We look forward to hearing from you! -Jeremy

  10. Jim 30/07/2018 at 4:49 pm

Disappointed the Ray Road store in Chandler no longer carries D&W.
Sadly will switch to Boars Head @ Fry’s

    • Customer Support 30/07/2018 at 5:57 pm

We genuinely appreciate you for taking the time to share your feedback, Jim. We’re sorry to hear your local store’s Deli Meat selection has missed the mark and will be sure to share your concerns with the appropriate personnel to be considered for the future. Thank you! -Jeremy

  11. Mary P 30/07/2018 at 10:40 pm

For me – unfortunately Boar’s Head still tends to have too high of levels of gluten for me to eat (10 ppm). So, that’s not an option if I want to feel good after eating.

  12. Kim Keeton-Pettit 31/07/2018 at 10:01 am

Jeremy, was the decision to remove D&W at the corporate level or at the store level. I’m getting mixed messages, my store manager stated that it was at the corporate level. But your responses imply it was at the store level and you ask for us to identify the store. I’m not going to through my local manage under the bus. And, he knows I’m not happy because I have talked with him.

  13. Krissina 11/08/2018 at 7:14 pm

I was so sad that my husband stopped at Albertsons to get some D&W ham and sandwich pepperoni, only to call and tell me D&W isn’t there anymore. I told him to just come home.
I finally just switched over from boars head.

    • Customer Support 11/08/2018 at 8:28 pm

Hi Krissina! We’d like to follow up with you directly about this. Could you please email us at and provide us with your contact phone number, and the store location that you frequent? Please reference this posting. Thank you! -Cynthia

  14. Judy M 11/08/2018 at 9:56 pm

Dietz and Watson is so much better than what I just bought at my Desert Ridge, Phx AZ location. You no longer carry the great quality D&W had and the new brand does not have a no salt added turkey that I loved. I will buy Boars Head again from now on until another grocery store offers Dietz and Watson.

    • Customer Support 12/08/2018 at 7:59 pm

Hi Judy. We’re sorry to hear this! We want all of our guests to enjoy the variety of products that are offered in our stores. We’ve shared your feedback with our North Tatum Blvd team for further review and consideration. Thank you! -Cynthia

My family shops your store over Smiths for the past 10 years for the simple reason that the D&W deli meat was vastly superior, enough to warrant your more expensive in store prices over Winco and Smiths. However your new deli meat selection is sub par, and the quality is disappointing. Also D&W sold the best hot dogs available. We will be considering shopping elsewhere, not that you care enough to send more than a robo response that every other customer who wrote you got. Thanks.

    • Customer Support 16/08/2018 at 11:50 pm

Hi Micah. We’re sorry to hear the selection of deli meat in your local store has missed the mark. Can you please let us know which location you visit most often? We’d like to share your concerns with our Management Teams as well. -Jeremy

  16. VegasDude 16/08/2018 at 10:00 pm

Utterly Shocked…. Unbelievable that Albertsons would drop a quality product like D&W for such an inferior brand as Kretschmar ? ? ?.. Guess I’ll be going back to shopping at Smiths, and Boars Head for all my deli needs…. Hopefully corporate realizes their Huge Mistake as your deli sales plummet, and Correct the Grievous Misdeed that has taken place…

    • Customer Support 16/08/2018 at 11:53 pm

VegasDude, please accept our sincerest apologies. We understand your frustration and would like to ensure your concerns are shared with the proper personnel. Can you please let us know which location you tend to shop at most often? -Jeremy

I live in Henderson NV and shopped at the Albertsons on Stephanie and Horizon for 10 years, mainly for their deli quality. In reply to my prior post.

    • Customer Support 17/08/2018 at 10:20 pm

Thanks for getting back to us, Micah. We have shared your concerns with our Management Teams. Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. -Cornelius

I think Kretschmar meats taste good but the company seems confused and doesn’t have it together yet. Their ‘low sodium’ roast beef (medium) says it has only 320 mg according to their brochure but the package label actually shows it has over 500. Their London broil is advertised at 250 (per 2 oz) but is actually over twice that. The counter guy and I found a bunch of discrepancies in what they advertise and what is real. I was disappointed in the overly salty taste that I didn’t bargain for… was my heart.

    • Customer Support 22/08/2018 at 5:28 pm

Bill, we appreciate you for taking the time to reach out to us with your concerns. We advise reaching out to the manufacturer directly to ensure your concerns are addressed properly. If there is anything else we can do to help out, please let us know. -Jeremy
