Directions Stove top cooking directions: 1 Cup water, a dash of salt (optional) and 1/2 cup oats makes 1 serving. 2 Cups water, 1/8 - 1/4 tsp of salt (optional) and 1 cup oats makes 2 servings. 3 Cups water, 1/8 - 1/4 tsp of salt (optional) and 1 1/2 cup oats makes 3 servings. 4 Cups water, 1/4 - 1/2 tsp of salt (optional) and 2 cups oats makes 4 servings. 1. Bring water and salt to boil. 2. Slowly stir in oats. 3. Reduce heat to medium and continue to cook uncovered for 8 - 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. 4. Remove from heat. Cover and let stand 3 - 5 minutes. Serve the lodge way with brown sugar, butter and cream or milk. Microwave directions (single serving): Place 3/4 cup water, dash of salt (optional) and 1/2 cup oats in microwave-safe bowl. Heat on high for 3 minutes; stir. Let stand about 3 minutes.
