Directions
Serving Suggestions: to maximize flavor use at room temperature. Smoked savory herb mackerel can be served as an hors d'oeuvre on toast or a cracker, plain or with lemon juice, mayonnaise or a combination of whipped cream and horseradish. Serve lightly sauteed with eggs for breakfast, or as a main course warmed in the oven and topped with Hollandaise sauce and chopped parsley. Storage: Ducktrap River smoked trout has been carefully wrapped in a vacuum package for your convince. Since we use no preservatives, it must be kept refrigerated. Your smoked trout is best stored for up to 10 days in a refrigerator or until the use by date , which ever is sooner. When opened, smoked trout should be well wrapped in the refrigerator and eaten within 4 days. You may also freeze smoked trout, if unopened, for up to 3 months.
