Directions Add chicken & sausage. You will need: 1 pkg. seasoning mix (included); 1 pkg. vegetable/rice mix (included); 1 pkg. yellow soup base (included); 5-1/4 cups water; 6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 3 to 3-1/2 lbs.); 1 lb. smoked or spicy sausage, sliced into 1-inch pieces; 1/2 lb. raw shrimp shelled (optional). 1. Put seasoning mix in a 6 or 7 quart Crock-Pot Slow Cooker. Whisk in water. 2. Add chicken, cover and cook for 8 to 10 hours on low for 4 to 6 hours on high. 3. About 30 minutes before the end of cooking time, remove chicken and shred. Combine yellow soup base mix with 1 Tbsp. cold water. Add to stew while stirring. Add vegetable/rice mix, sausage and shrimp (if using). Replace lid and continue cooking. Variation: For an even richer taste, sear chicken before adding to Crock-Pot Slow Cooker.
