Directions
Microwave Directions: In 2-quart microwaveable bowl, combine rice, 2-1/2 cups water and 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine. Cover and microwave at high 18-21 minutes or until rice is tender and most of liquid is absorbed. Stir in 2/3 cup milk and Special Seasonings. Microwave at high 1-2 more minutes or until rice mixture returns to a boil. Let stand covered at least 3 minutes. Stir well before serving. Microwave ovens vary; adjust times as needed. Less Fat Directions: Follow Range Top or Microwave Directions, except substitute butter with 1/2 tablespoon olive oil and use 1/4 cup skim milk Fat reduced to 7 g from 13 g per serving. Saturated fat reduced to 2.5 g from 4 g per serving. Trans fat reduced to 0 g from 1.5 g per serving. See Nutrition Facts Panel for Sodium Content. Preferred Method: Rice range top Directions: 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 2 cups water 2/3 cup milk. (1) In a medium saucepan, combine rice, water, and butter or margarine. Bring to a boil. (2) 0 Cover, reduce heat to low. Simmer 18 to 20 minutes or until rice is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. (3) Stir in 2/3 cup milk and Special Seasonings. Increase heat to high. Boil for 1 to 2 more minutes stirring constantly; sauce will be creamy. (4) Cover and remove from heat. Let stand 3 minutes. Stir well before serving. About 3 cups prepared. Enjoy!
