Directions You'll Need: 5 quart pot; 1-1/2 quarts water or unsalted stock; 1-1/2 pounds of one or a combination of the following: smoked sausage, peeled & deveined shrimp, crabmeat and/or chicken. Optional: 1/3 cup of tomato sauce. 1. Place Mam Papaul's Gumbo with Okra mix and 1-1/2 quarts of water or stock into a 5 quart pot and stir. 2. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes stirring occasionally. 3. Add desired meat or seafood and 1/3 cup of tomato sauce (optional) and return to a boil. 4. Lower hear, simmer 20 minutes or until meat/seafood is tender and gumbo is of desired consistency. Season with hot sauce if desired. Serve with steamed rice. Makes approximately 6 - 1 cup servings.
