Sustainable Seafood

Our neighbors, communities and the world we live in mean a great deal to us here at Albertsons.  And it is always our goal to provide them with quality food – we do this by supporting sustainable practices for our environment.  Where we can, we source the products we provide to you from local growers and vendors.  And when we decide which seafood to provide to you, we ensure that these providers practice responsible fishing in our oceans, lakes and rivers.  This is why we only use Wild Caught or Farm-Raised seafood.

What is the difference between the two?

  • Wild Caught is seafood from wild sources such as oceans, lakes and rivers.
  • Farm-Raised seafood, also known as “aquaculture,” is a practice by which farmers raise freshwater and saltwater fish in enclosed, sustainable tanks.

Our vendors and partners work with us to make responsible choices in by providing us with fish that has been caught responsibly which allows us to help take better care of our oceans, lakes and rivers..  You can find out more about these practices at
